How has the garden changed for a year? New season of the lessons outside

01.06.18

We went out again on June 1 to celebrate start of a new summer school season!

The garden is to be and this year it became even greener with a new fence and landed not only with fruits and vegetables, but also herbs – basil, cloves, mint and a lot of useful and very fragrant plants.

Each year children together with the biology teacher land their garden simply in the territory of the “OHMATDYT” hospital. This piece of land then becomes a green oasis, where you can study on the open air, spend time with the use and super-task –  look after the plants. As it is shown by the experience, this is the best motivation for kids to learn. In addition, what is even more important it is an extra reason to spend more time outdoors and not in the ward.

This year in the garden there we met new guests- Miss Ukraine-2017, beautiful models, Red Cross volunteers and journalists from 1 + 1 chanel came to the city. They helped small superheroes – and all together managed to plant a record number of seedlings. Can you believe? However, in September we managed to gather an incredible harvest of squashes, which have been passed to the club “LIFELOVER”. Meanwhile, tomatoes and cucumbers were used for the salads, that vitamins will last for the whole winter.

It’s a pity that the summer is ending so fast – but we believe that it is absolutely possible to hold the garden whole year round. If you arrange greenhouses! And we hope that we will succeed in translating this dream into reality. So, follow our garden news, and if you want to join the realization of such dreams – do not hesitate and write to us!
