Everything you wanted to ask about HIV / AIDS, all medical researches and keen ideas – all this annually is discussed at the largest international conference “International AIDS Conference”.
On August 23, 2018, we also went to Amsterdam – Smart Heart with Art was represented by Evgeniya Smirnova. She met with Lambert Grijns, Ambassador of Netherlands on Sexual, Reproductive Health and Human Rights. Mr. Lambert shared his experience: how to attract more people to fight with discrimination, how to insert society into solving of useful and important matters? It was one of those speeches that inspire, motivate and later transfer into a source of ideas.
During one of the sessions, participants of the conference had a chance to discover Ukrainian experience of inclusive education – more precisely, a history of the School of the Superheroes and children who study at the “OHMATDYT” Hospital. This story was presented in harmony with the theme of the conference on “Removing obstacles, building bridges”. The story of the right on education for children who are forced to spend time in hospitals is as sharp topin up with the fight against discrimination against people living with HIV.
We could not pass Sir Elton John’s speech – he noted the problem of humanity that society still should come up with. After all, today the greatest threat to those who have HIV is isolation and conviction by others. It is possible to overcome the epidemic only in a society where reliance reigns, and people with HIV / AIDS can work freely, receive medical help and live near those who support them.
