The Garden shall be! New Season 2021 is opened)

07.06.21

On June 1, on Children’s Day, our teachers Natalia Davydenko and Bohdan Savchenko, school officer Serhiy with his toy cat partner together with young Okhmatdyt patients, star guests – the Superheroes School curator, the project Right to Education curator and TV presenter 1+1 Natalia Moseichuk, the project Make a Dreams Come True (Здійсни мрію) curator  Lidia Taran, the Your Day (Твій день) host Ruslana Pysanka, the host of TV show Breakfast with 1+1. Weekend Oleksandr Popov and volunteers from the Miss Ukraine team planted a small garden. Antonina Lesyk, a blogger-gardener and an expert on Breakfast with 1+1, followed all the subtleties of planting.

After a year break, the town of the Superheroes School is back! The first lockdown in 2020 knocked everyone off track and the vegetable garden  season was missed, but this year we are resuming our annual event – a festive planting, outdoor biology lessons, mini-football matches and swing even for those on crutches and in wheelchairs. The residence is open for Superheroes!

Our little Okhmatdyt patients planted vegetables – tomatoes, cabbage, peppers, cucumbers, radishes, peas, lettuce, carrots, strawberries and strawberries – to watch the plants grow all summer and taste their own vegetables and berries. By the way, raspberries are already growing here, which were planted together with Tina Karol and Natalia Moseychuk; mint – our island of peace) and the jungle of currants)
And this year the landing took place in the format of a quest – two teams of children guessed riddles, completed tasks and planted future delicacies. Everyone – both children and their adult helpers had a great time!

We will harvest the first crop at the end of the month – we are waiting for strawberries and strawberries to ripen, and we will drink mint tea now) All summer twice a week a biology teacher will conduct botany lessons for curious students, together they will monitor plant growth and weeds will be removed. And they will definitely taste everything that was grown in the garden.

“I want the kids to say after they come back from the hospital wards, ‘You know, I got to the hospital once. So, we planted a garden there, cut mint, ate tomatoes, picked currants. ” There was no talk of pills, drugs or drips. This is our goal!” – shared Natalia Moseychuk.

“Every minute of joy prolongs the life of these children and speeds up their recovery,” said Ruslana Pysanka, the host of Your Day. “It is important that children are as comfortable as possible. To make the space remind them of home. So that they feel the childhood”– shared the curator of the project Make a Dream Come True Lydia Taran. “This initiative started in a small garden, and now has grown into a large residence – education and entertainment. There should be more such initiatives all over the country,” said Volodymyr Zhovtyak, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Small Heart with Art.
