The non-governmental organization “Small Heart with Art” was established to support, help and improve the conditions of hospital stays, including those of young patients with HIV / AIDS.
Therefore, upon receiving a request from the Clinics for the Treatment of Children with HIV / AIDS, we immediately began looking for opportunities to help.
The request included a list of necessities for a comfortable stay of the children in the hospital:
• • diapers – 152 packs;
• wet wipes – 60 packs;
• cooking pots – 6 pieces;
• tablespoons – 60 pieces;
• cutting boards – 4 pieces;
• a stainless steel kettle – 1 piece;
• an electric kettle – 1 piece;
• a microwave oven – 1 piece;
• paper towels – 75 packs;
• toilet paper – 45 packs;
• copying machines – 2 pieces;
• printers – 2 pieces;
• sets of bed linen – 60 pieces;
• terry cloth towels – 30 pieces;
• kitchen towels – 30 pieces;
• flannel cloth pads – 100 pieces;
• chiffon cloth diapers – 10 pieces;
• pillows – 20 pieces;
• sheets – 40 pieces;
• oil heaters – 2 pieces
Doctors needed a lab centrifuge – a device that separates liquids of homogeneous type (blood, urine, lymph, drugs) into fractions to expand the possibilities of diagnosis and treatment of children.
Buying the whole list of necessities was feasible thanks to the employees of UkrHidroEnergo, who had already helped the children of this department in the past.
A representative of UkrHidroEnergo, Mariana, came to hand over the charity necessities. She talked to the medical staff of the department and the founders of the NGO “Small Heart with Art” to find out more about the most common needs among young patients and how they are fulfilled.
Together with the team of medical staff, we are sincerely grateful for their attention, support and assistance. Now the children of the department will be more comfortable in the hospital.
The children have made a gift to Ms Mariana as an expression of their gratitude. They drew and handed over a picture, which will now hang in a place of honour in the office of UkrHidroEnergo.
