❤️ We have launched the online course “How to Teach Superheroes 2.0” for teachers who support children in their education and life

12.02.26

During a full-scale war, thousands of Ukrainian children study not at desks, but in hospital wards. Their lessons take place between treatment, rehabilitation, procedures, and air raids. In such conditions, education ceases to be just a learning process — it becomes a support, a connection to normal life and a sense of the future.

Next to these children are teachers.
Those who work every day in conditions of physical and emotional vulnerability of students. Who must be able to adapt the lesson, support the child, find the right words for parents and at the same time remain resourceful themselves. Often – without special training and without the opportunity to stop.

It is for these teachers that we launched the online course “How to Teach Superheroes 2.0”. This is a continuation of the course launched in 2020 and completed by more than 8 thousand students.

This course is not about ideal conditions.
It is about the reality in which teachers live and work today:
▪️ how to conduct a lesson in a hospital ward when a child does not have the strength for usual learning;
▪️ how to support a student who is experiencing fear, pain or fatigue;
▪️ how to adapt the material to the child’s condition here and now;
▪️ how to build interaction with the family;
▪️ and how to support after discharge from the hospital.

The course includes 20 hours of practical training, the experience of the Superheroes School, and the expertise of specialists in the field of education and psychosocial support for children. This is not an abstract theory, but specific tools, cases, and approaches that can be applied immediately.

Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate (0.7 ECTS credits). But the most valuable thing here is not the document. The most valuable thing is the feeling of professional support, community, and the fact that your work matters.

Although the course was created to expand the knowledge of teachers and staff of the Superheroes School, its principles will be useful to a much wider range of teachers:

▪️ educators and other teaching staff of healthcare institutions – those who accompany children in medical circumstances every day;

▪️ teachers who work with children in an individual form of education (pedagogical patronage) – those for whom each lesson is an adaptation to the child’s unique situation;

▪️ teachers who work with children in need of support in learning – those who daily seek individual approaches and create an accessible learning environment.

The course will also be valuable for parents whose children know firsthand what a hospital is like. It will help them better understand how to support their child in their studies, how to cooperate with teachers, and how to maintain motivation for development even in the most difficult circumstances.

This course is about people.

About teachers who do extraordinary things every day without loud words.

About children for whom studying in a hospital becomes a thread that keeps them connected to life.
