How to study in the hospitals and can children receive education simoly in the wards?

We held 4 meetings of the Interagency working group that is working on the tough question – “provision of educational services in the hospitals”. As a result for almost a half a year we succeeded in creation of a special document – “Regulation on the organization of the forms of general secondary education in health care facilities”.

Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science, public figures, teachers, parents’ representatives and team of the Superheroes School have been working on it.

What was created? Liliia Grynevych and Nataliia Moseychuk, curator of the Superheroes School, and one of the authors of the amendments to the Regulation 1982, Iryna Synia

presented a new document on December 19, 2018.

It stated that every child in the hospital has right for the education of the government level. It comes from the Regulation that there is a possibility of individual and distance education for the babies that can not leave the wards. Furthemore, it explains duties of the director of the school that is functioning on the basis of the the hospital and chief doctor. This document regulates all forms of education and level of load for the children. It is only left to modify few moments about the teachers training. After all, teachers in such schools shall know how to provide first aid (in case a child would feel collapsed during the lesson), understand in psychology of crisis situations and be able to pay special attention to children who have undergone heavy operations or have been fighting with an illness for too long.

This is why  the founder of the Superheroes School is Yevheniia Smirnova, the teacher of mathematics Olena Kirkevych and the representative of parents Olena Tsybak shared their opinion regarding special features of the schools in hospitals during the presentation.

This is a first step for the creation of schools in all hospitals of Ukraine. 

The “Regulation” has already entered into force. What will be the results and how many schools we should wait for? We will see this year.
